MIXMODE played the Lucchese F1 Weekend pop-up inside the Lucchese boot store on South Congress Avenue in Austin on Friday, October 23, 2026: Jordan Miller on the DJ decks and Kristian Cruz on live electric guitar, set up among the boot walls and by the storefront windows on the opening day of United States Grand Prix weekend.
Friday was practice day at Circuit of The Americas, with the race on Sunday, October 25. Away from the track, brands across Austin host their own events during race weekend. Lucchese held its pop-up in the store itself.
What the set looked like
The photos from the day show how the show fit into a working retail space:
- The decks by the window. The DJ controller sat on a table near the storefront glass, framed by boots on display, where the set was visible from the South Congress sidewalk.
- Live guitar on the shop floor. Kristian played electric guitar beside the decks and moved among the boot walls instead of standing on a stage.
- The store as the backdrop. Handmade boots, the lounge seating and the Formula 1 sign at the storefront were the set design.

Why a DJ plus live guitar suits a retail pop-up
A retail activation has to pull people in off the street and keep them in the room long enough to look around. A DJ controls the energy of the room for hours; a live guitarist gives passers-by something to watch through the window. Together they act as both the soundtrack and the reason to walk in, in a space that has no stage.
The format also scales down well. A DJ setup and one guitarist need a table, power and a few feet of floor, which suits a store that stays open for business during the event.
Part of MIXMODE's race weekends in Austin
This was not MIXMODE's first race weekend in Austin. Jordan Miller has performed at Podium Club at Circuit of The Americas during race weekend 2023 and on the party deck of Club SI during race weekend 2024, plus Ferrari of Austin reveal events in both years. See F1 Austin activation entertainment for how those events were set up.
MIXMODE is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Formula 1. These are brand and private events held in Austin during race weekend.
