Why this format works in an activation.

• How much space does it require?

  A compact two-person footprint: standard DJ backline — two CDJs and a mixer or equivalent — on a table or riser, with the guitarist beside it. One guitar input with a DI at the stage position and one wedge monitor. The setup is IEM-ready, so a lounge or suite with no real stage still works.

• Can the set adapt around brand programming and a shifting run-of-show?

  Yes. The set is mixed live rather than run from a fixed setlist, so break points for a speech, a demo, a toast or a talent moment are cut in cleanly and the room is rebuilt afterwards. Run-of-show changes on the day are handled from the stage, not renegotiated.

• Can it play short branded moments?

  Yes. Walk-in music, custom edits and bespoke intros are standard production options, and MC and announcements can be handled from the stage. Short, scheduled music moments through the day are as workable as one continuous performance.

• Can it scale from lounge volume to headline energy in the same booking?

  That is the reason the format exists. Guitar-forward and quieter carries a conversational room early; the same two performers push the same set to peak later without a changeover, a second vendor or a second contract.

• Can it work with the AV vendor already in the space?

  Yes — for most activations the buyer's production or AV vendor provides FOH, monitors and DJ backline, and Mixmode advances directly with them. Where a space has no in-house production, a scaled sound and lighting package can be added, quoted by room size.

• What does advance look like?

  Technical rider, stage plot, input list, power requirements and hospitality go to your production lead roughly 30 days out, so nothing is being solved during load-in. Insurance certificates are provided for the venue as needed.

• What media and photo opportunity does the live guitarist create?

  A DJ alone photographs as a person behind a booth. A guitarist on stage gives content and PR teams a live performance to shoot — hooks played in the room, a player to frame, and footage that reads as a real moment rather than background music.

Are you available during F1 race weekend in Austin?

Race-weekend availability in Austin is limited and books out furthest in advance of any weekend on the calendar. Send the date, venue and format through the form on this page and you get availability back within one business day. The 2026 race weekend is October 23–25, 2026 at Circuit of the Americas, with activation programming running across the surrounding week.

How late can we book?

Later than most acts, because Mixmode is based in Austin full-time — no travel routing to solve and site visits are possible when useful. Local inquiries typically get a same-business-day response. That said, race weekend is the tightest window of the year, so earlier is materially better.

Can you work with our existing AV vendor?

Yes. For most activations your production or AV vendor supplies FOH, monitors and DJ backline, and Mixmode advances directly with them — technical rider, stage plot, input list, power and hospitality roughly 30 days out.

What is the stage footprint?

Two performers: standard DJ backline — two CDJs and a mixer or equivalent — with the guitarist beside it. One guitar input with a DI at the stage position and one wedge monitor, IEM-ready. It fits a riser, a low stage, or a lounge corner.

Can the set stay brand-safe and conversational earlier in the day?

Yes. Radio-clean edits are available for the whole set on request, and the set can run guitar-forward and quieter for arrivals, demos and dinner before building later in the night.

Do you provide sound and lighting if the space has none?

Yes — a scaled sound and lighting package can be added for rooms without in-house production, quoted by room size. LED wall content, CO2 jets, low-fog and confetti are available as production add-ons.

Are you affiliated with Formula 1?

No. Mixmode has no official affiliation with, sponsorship from, or endorsement by Formula 1, the FIA or Circuit of the Americas. Mixmode has performed on event stages connected to the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, and performs at brand and private events in Austin during race weekend.
