Date and day of week, travel distance, set length, whether you need production (sound, lighting, LED) and how much of the day is covered — a ceremony-through-afterparty wedding costs more than a single 90-minute club set.
What that means in practice
Pricing moves with date, market, travel, set length and how much production the venue already owns. A venue with a working PA and lighting rig costs less to play than an empty room or an outdoor build.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy?

Does a hybrid act cost more than a DJ?

Should I hire a DJ or a band for my wedding?
A DJ gives you the exact recordings guests know and no set breaks; a band gives you live energy but a smaller song catalog and scheduled breaks. A hybrid DJ + live guitar act gives you both: original recordings, continuous music, and a live player on stage.
Is a DJ + guitarist better than a band?
For dance-floor-driven events, usually yes: you get every song in its original recording, no set breaks, a smaller stage footprint, lower production cost, and still a live performer. A full band is the better choice when you want vocal-led live covers all night.
