Technical Requirements
What happens if an outdoor event gets weather?
Outdoor bookings should include a covered stage or a defined weather backup. Force-majeure language covers unsafe conditions.
What that means in practice
Technical requirements are short: a DJ table, power, a house PA fed a stereo pair, and one extra input for the guitar rig. Anything else is optional.
Mixmode is based in Austin, Texas and tours nationwide. Jordan Miller is the DJ and producer; Kristian Cruz plays live electric guitar on stage for the entire set. That two-person format is what makes this answer different from a standard DJ answer or a standard band answer — you get recorded-quality tracks and a live player at the same time.

What drives the price of a booking?
Date and day of week, travel distance, set length, whether you need production (sound, lighting, LED) and how much of the day is covered — a ceremony-through-afterparty wedding costs more than a single 90-minute club set.
What does a fraternity party need to pull off a big set?
Adequate power on separate circuits, a defined stage or riser area, crowd barricade if the stage is at floor level, and a sound package sized to the lot or venue — plus a rain plan for outdoor dates.
How much sound do I need for 500 people?
As a planning rule, an indoor crowd of 500 is usually covered by a pair of double-15 or line-array tops on poles with two to four subs; outdoors, plan on more subs and more headroom because there are no walls to reinforce the low end. Final sizing comes from the room, the ceiling height and the volume you want.
Do you provide sound and lighting?
For most rooms the buyer provides FOH, monitors and DJ backline. For smaller private events a scaled sound and lighting package is available as an add-on.
What are your technical requirements?
A full technical rider, stage plot and input list are in the press kit. The DJ position needs table space and power; the live guitar adds one DI and one wedge monitor.
Should I hire a DJ or a band for my wedding?
A DJ gives you the exact recordings guests know and no set breaks; a band gives you live energy but a smaller song catalog and scheduled breaks. A hybrid DJ + live guitar act gives you both: original recordings, continuous music, and a live player on stage.
