Country EDM
What is Country EDM?
Country EDM is a crossover format that puts country songwriting, vocals and guitar into electronic dance production, so a familiar country song arrives with a dance-floor drop.
What that means in practice
Country EDM puts country songwriting, vocals and guitar into electronic dance production. It is the format Mixmode is best known for, and the live guitar is what makes the country half read as live rather than as an edit.
Mixmode is based in Austin, Texas and tours nationwide. Jordan Miller is the DJ and producer; Kristian Cruz plays live electric guitar on stage for the entire set. That two-person format is what makes this answer different from a standard DJ answer or a standard band answer — you get recorded-quality tracks and a live player at the same time.

People also ask
Does live guitar work with EDM?
Yes. Electronic tracks leave harmonic and melodic space that a guitar can fill — riffs through the build, a hook over the drop, and clean rhythm parts under vocal sections. It works because the guitarist plays to the arrangement rather than over it.
Do you only play Country EDM?
No. Country EDM is the flagship, but the same duo plays open format — rock, hip-hop, Latin, house, emo and pop punk — and the set is programmed to your crowd.
What is a hybrid DJ?
A hybrid DJ set is a normal DJ performance with a live instrumentalist playing on top of it in real time. You keep the seamless, non-stop energy of a DJ and add the visual and sonic payoff of a live musician.
Does Country EDM work at a wedding?
It works well in Texas and the South, where the crowd already knows the country catalog. The usual approach is straight country and classics early, then country-EDM edits once the floor is full.
Can a DJ play emo and pop-punk?
Yes. Emo and pop-punk nights work as a DJ format because the songs are short, familiar and singalong-driven — and live electric guitar over those riffs is the part crowds react to hardest.
Can you do custom edits and first-dance arrangements?
Yes. Custom edits, walk-in music, live-guitar first-dance arrangements and brand moments for corporate activations are standard requests.
